Take to the Skypes
We’re always looking for ways to push the envelope here at ATV, and yesterday we made ATV history by conducting the first-ever Skype video interview from our ATV studio.
Now granted, this was actually just a 3-minute test video meant as a proof-of-concept in order to see if we could even get a Skype interview to work. As it turns out, our test worked great. In fact, it worked out so well that even though this was intended to be a video for internal use only, we thought we might give you the chance to check it out (if you’re interested).
The video is produced by Tech tAUk co-host/co-producer and ATV Web Manager Douglas Bell, and Sean Speirs, our General Manager, agreed to be the test victim subject for the Skype interview.
Tech tAUk has been on the cutting edge this semester in integrating computer screencasts into its shows in order to do live product demos; the integration of Skype here is an extension of their techniques. While we will likely do some fine-tuning to the setup demonstrated here, expect to see Tech tAUk (and some of our other shows) start using Skype next semester to bridge time and space for some awesome interviews!
